Karel Martens's new publication, Uranus, was built with removable pages so it can be disassembled and reassembled. Here, the book is assembled into a composition that fits the space at Bananafish Books, an iteration of the original exhibition at IS A GALLERY.
Uranus is a representation of solar bodies that uses Martens's approach to color, form, and position. The format of the book is based on the traditional Chinese lunarsolar calendar, which tracks the movement of the moon and other bodies and features easily removable pages.
